My dad and sisters were missing my mom while she was away in Arizony for a doll show. We decided to kidnap them and take them boating after Andrey and Zach (one of our neighbor friends) worked so hard to get it up and running again.
We drove (2.5 hrs.) to Utah lake (after a looong adventure trying to find it) and got so excited to just jump into the water.
We loaded up the cooler and chairs, tossed on life jackets and began our drive out into the lake. It was so beautiful. I have missed being out in the water. I love summer.
I have not been water skiing since I was 3 or so, so I was the first to jump at the chance to get out there.
Oh my goodness!!! That water was so cold. After a few minutes of screaming and trying to catch my breath, I began to listen to my dad and Andrey teach me how to water skii.
After getting the skiis tight enough, I was ready to go.
After four attempts to stand and doing the splits in the water, and other painful things, I kept getting frustrated because I would almost be standing but then nothing would happen.
After pulling my leg the wrong direction and deciding to rest a bit, my dad jumped in.
Again, we had to wait for an even longer time while he finished screaming and catching his breath from the cold water, and then the fun began.
He was a pro, but for some reason, we just couldn't keep him up.
Finally, we realized that there were too many of us in the boat (7) and there should only be 3 at a time until we buy a new prop. for the boat. That is why I couldn't get standing long enough to skii. The boat couldn't get fast enough.
We were all worn out and cold, so we headed back to our place and jumped in our new pool. And, Ahhhh! The water was nice and warm. We had a fun sleep over with my sisters, Bailee and Kaycee, and we are all now ready to take that boat out again so I can master the art of water skiing (pictures soon will be put up).

I Know That My Reedemer Lives
This hymn is my favorite. The words are amazing and show the love that our Savior has for us all.

Ma and Pa trek
Andrey and I are the Ma and Pa for our trek this summer with our youth. We went on a trek with just the leaders a few weeks ago, to get to know the area a little better and know how to work the handcarts a little more.
We woke up early and sent our kids with my mom, and drove up Parleys to the location. We had a great devotional and then went to our handcarts, 8 people to each one. We had on our Pioneer get-up and started walking. The service Missionaries told us to follow the trail by follwing the fence all the way for about 2.5 miles until we saw a barn and the latrines.
We started our hike which was the hardest thing ever.
We had to keep stopping and rotate our positions. We did no see how the youth would make this hike. It was crazy with the boulders, bushes, and dips all over the place.
We finally, after a few hours (when we should have been heading back home) reached the top of this mountain and saw nothing but more and more hills and mountains. No barn.
We had a teaching moment as one of the women found a tic on the outside of my dress in my buttocks area. Everyone had to crowd around to see what a tic looked like (yeah, not my most favorite moment).
After the men and women freaked out a bit and checked themselves for tics, we sent one of our men to find help and the barn. Wow, we really did feel like the pioneers, minus negative temperatures and snow.
They were amazing to have so much faith to endure, many leaving their loved ones for dead, and having no food, warm clothes, etc. They still continued on to Zion.
When we finally (after making up our own trail) reached the latrines and were eating, a great respect and love for the Pinoeers filled my heart.
Our youth are so lucky to have this opportunity to go on this trek.
After we found the real trail (which was so much easier) we discussed the day. We are having the youth walk for someone that walked to Salt Lake in 1856. I think this experience will help strengthen their testimonies and help them understand that they are, right now, going through their own kind of faith walk and trek. There are so many horrible things going on in the world around us, but we need to continue to follow our loveing Prophet, President Monson, and conitnue "walking, singing, and pressing forward." I am excited for the end of June when we go on the actual trek. I am so grateful for all those that have made this activity possible for us.

Happy Memorial Day!
We love memorial day. What a wonderful time to be with family and to remember those that have given us so many freedoms, and to avoid the cemetaries. lol Not to be insensitive. It is always so crazy, so we always go visit my Grandma Pat later in the week.
Anyway, this year was a fun year. We always go to my Grandpa's house and have a breakfast barbeque with everyone. After Andrey got the flags up, we headed over where we had pancakes, sausage, bacon, eggs, and had a blast playing volleyball, tetherball, horseshoes, playing on the swingset, riding on the train that Andrey and uncle Joe put together, hitting the pinata, etc.
I love being with family and planning the summer reunions.
We also had another barbeque with my Aunt and Uncle Joe and Arlene. It was fun for all the younger kids to get together and play. It is fun to watch my girls with the younger children. They get along so well now and it's nice to relax and be with my family.
I hope all of you had a great holiday!

Happy Mother's Day
I love Mother's day. Now, for me, it's never been all that great. I have a hubby (I love him so don't think I'm venting) that seems to forget about mother's day for me. The only year he ever said or did anything was our first year being married and I didn't have any kids. lol Each year I would look for a card or flowers hiding somewhere, but by the end of the day, he would feel so bad and apoligize for forgetting. Well, this mother's day I woke up in a bad mood. I think the girls knew it was a Sunday because they had to cry about everything. Breakfast was a mess, luckily, the night before I washed the dishes because I knew they wouldn't get done, and then all through the day, I kept waiting for Andrey to even wish me a Happy Mother's day...but nothing.
I was so hurt. During Sunday school, he went home to get his lesson manual for young mens. All through the rest of the meetings I was fuming. How could Andrey not appreciate me? I know, I am so selfish, but it's nice to feel loved, especially when there is a day dedicated for just that. lol
I got home from church and went straight to our room to change. We had a busy day of traveling since we had three mothers to visit.
I stormed into the kitchen to get us all lunch and to my surprise, there on the table was a beautiful boquet of roses and a nice typed up letter from Andrey.
I felt so bad because I was so rotten to him all day.
He just gave me a hug and wished me a happy mother's day.
I realized then that I needed to change my focus and just enjoy the day off that we all had and that we were so lucky to be together.
We had a great time with family.
I love my moms so much. All of them have been so loving, supportive during our horrible financial times, and have just loved our daughters. We are so lucky to have such amazing mothers. I am so grateful for them and love that I have them with me on this earth and that I get to be with them forever.
I hope all of you had a wonderful Mother's day and know what blessings you are in your children's lives. And those of you who don't have children, that's ok. you are still wonderful and loving women who touch the lives of so many. So thank you and we love you.
